Dennis Pratt: Liberty, Community & The Free State Project

On this week’s podcast, I met with Dennis Pratt during our latest USA trip.

Dennis was inspired to move to New Hampshire in 2018 and has been involved in the Free State Project ever since, establishing community groups, running the free state festival PorcFest and doing some fascinating research into the psychology of the local Libertarians.

In this episode, Dennis shares his journey as a prominent figure in the Free State Project and discusses the challenges and triumphs of building a libertarian community, emphasizing the importance of personal characteristics in adopting libertarian ideals and the necessity of creating an environment that fosters freedom.

The conversation delves into the practicalities of living in a free society, including the impact of zoning laws on young families and the potential for educational reform. Dennis highlights the unique dynamics of the libertarian community in New Hampshire, where diverse groups coexist and collaborate to enhance individual liberties.

We also discuss the future of the Free State Project, the strategies being employed to attract more libertarians, and the vision for the future.

Enjoy the conversation.
