Krysta Fox: Free Zones. Past, Present & Future

“DMCC has been named global free zone of the year for 10 years now… it’s a mixed use zone. It doesn’t switch the lights off at 5 pm and everybody goes home. It’s got the capability to drive revenue and to drive activities 24/7.

I think that’s a really important part of understanding the evolution of very successful zones across this region and something that leaders can really think about in terms of how they formulate their strategies.

Krysta Fox: Free Zones. Past, Present & Future

For this week’s podcast I’m back in the U.A.E. with another excellent conversation from our SEZ filming trip.

Krysta Fox has a long and illustrious business career, but the part we were interested in was her six-year position as executive director of Dubai’s DMCC – (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre) a very well-known and hugely successful free zone.

As a consequence, Krysta has a lot to say about free zones and what makes them tick. She’s also a wealth of information on the past and present of zones with many examples and predictions for the future especially with regard to their residential component… something that we here at the FCF are very excited about.

Enjoy the conversation.
